Vodka and cranberry spritzers

These preety and refreshing cocktails are a great way to recieve your guests.

Serves 10

1/4 cup fresh lime juice

1/4 cup sugar

1/4 cup water

31/4 cups cranberry juice cocktail

11/4 cups vodka

1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons Campari

21/2 cups club soda

Ice cubes

Lime slices

Combine first 3 ingredients in small saucepan.Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Cool (lime syrup can be made 1 day ahead,refridgerated)

Mix Cranberry juice,Vodka, Campari and Lime syrup in large pitcher. Stir in club soda. Fill glasses with ice. Garnish with lime. Serve immediately.


cranberry -Marinated Vodka

Believe it or not I started thinking about the holidays already. Its so strange,in my neighbourhood leaves have already started to change color and fall.This reminded me of a great cocktail I served at one of my holiday get togethers. It was,simply put,a raging success. This great cocktail comes from Mesa grill in lower Manhattan owed by none other than the famous Bobby Flay.It’s just perfect for the holiday season,or…why wait!!

makes about 5 cups

5 cups cranberries

21/4 cups water

11/4 cups sugar

2 cups vodka

Ice cubes

Combine 5 cups cranberries,water and sugar in heavy large saucepan. Bring to boil,stirring frequently to dissolve sugar. Cool completly. mix in Vodka. Cover cranberry mixture and let stand 2 days at room temperature.

Strain cranberry mixture through sieve. (can be prepared 1 month ahead. Cover and refridgerate). Fill glasses with ice,Pour cranberry Vodka over and serve.


My theory on entertaining is simple, prepare ahead so I may enjoy the party as much as my guests. This is perfect for such an event. It is prepared im a 60 ounce pitcher and everyone can serves themselves, leaving you free to mingle with your guests. This super recipie comes from my favorite Mexican restaurant, Rosa Mexicano

Juice of 8 oranges, approximately 2 cups

Juice of 2 lemons

3/4 cups sugar

1×750 ml Rioja wine

2-3 ounces Grand Marnier

Thin slices of oranges and lemons

Stir ingredients in a pitcher ,adding a small amount of ice. Serve in iced goblets with fruit slices.


On a glorious trip to Hawaii my husband and I enjoyed fantastic cocktails on the beach, but a particularly favorite one was the Chi Chi, served in the afternoon while relaxing at the beach!!sigh, paradise!! Use unsweetened pineapple juice and good quality coconut cream. Best served in a large goblet.


45 ml vodka

15 ml Cointreau

30 ml coconut cream

120 ml pineapple juice

fresh pineapple slice

maraschino cherry

Place ice,vodka,cointreau,coconut cream and pineapple juice in a shaker; shake to mix. Strain into a serving glass and garnish with a pineapple and cherry.
