Raspberry -Lime freeze

I simply adore strawberry shakes or any such creamy cold drinks. Ofcourse I am convinced the milk and strawberries are full of calcium and antioxidants. So , in that vein I was delighted to discover this recipe on the internet, using a combination of fresh raspberries, so heavenly coupled with sorbet for intensity and ice cream…wow

serves 4

21/2 pints raspberries(about 7 cups)

1 pint raspberry sorbet

1 tablespoon lime zest

1/4 cup fresh lime juice (from 2-3 limes)

1 cup vanilla ice cream

Place 51/2 cups raspberries, the lime juice , lime zest and sorbet in a blender. Puree until smooth. Add ice cream and blend once more. Transfer to a serving jug and stir in the remaining raspberries. Serve cold

Passion Fruit Rose iced tea

21/2 cups water

4 Passion Tea bags( We love Tazo Tea Bags)

2 cinnamon sticks

2 cups Apple Juice

3 tablespoons or more Honey

1 tablespoon fresh lime juice

1 teaspoon Rose Water, available in Asian stores or Whole foods

Brind water to boil. Add cinnamon sticks and tea bags. Cover and turn off heat. Allow to steep for 6-8 minutes.

Discard teabags and add honey, lime juice, apple juice and rose water. Taste for sweetness, add more honey if desired.

Cool . Then place in Refriderator till cold. Serve

Watermelon Daiquiri

I stumbled upon this recipie quiet by accident and loved it. What more can you ask when fresh watermelon is so abundant and inexpensive. It is greatly refreshing and being low calorieis just a bonus.This recipie comes from Shirley m Draper.

4 cups seedless watermelon, peeled, seeded and cubed. FROZEN FOR 6 HOURS

1/2 cup light rum

1/4 cup Fresh Lime juice

1/4 cup triple Sec

Ice cubes

Combine Frozen Watermelon, rum, lime juice and Liqueur in a blender. Blend till smooth.

Add ice cubes to bring mixture up to 5 cups. Blend and serve

Mango Fizz

I love this kid friendly, nonalcoholic ,drink. Truth be told I do not enjoy alcohol and am always on the look out for new and exciting drinks. This fits the bill. It is from Williams Sonoma.

Ice cubes or crushed ice

12 fl oz (11/2 cups)Mango nectar

1 cup fresh orange juice or Pineapple juice

4 fl (1/2 cup)Fresh lime juice(3-4limes)

24 fl oz(1 bottle) sparkling water

4 mango or pineapple wedges for garnish

Select 4 tumblers or Highball glasses. Fill each glass with ice. Add 6 tablespoons of the mango nectar, 1/4 cup of the orange juice and 2 tablespoons of the lime juice to each glass and stir. Top each glass off with 1/4 cup sparkling water, stir. Garnish with a Mango wedge. Serve at once.
